Amphorae: An Incomplete Compendium of Non-Ancient Greek Vessels is 320 pages filled with 157 unique, full-color drawings of decidedly NON-ancient vessels.
Some are multicolored and exuberant, others are more monochrome and somber, still others are just plain weird.

Some of the shapes are inspired by the amphorae of antiquity while others just come from Anna’s head.

Sometimes she scrawls a phrase across the imagined ceramic: “Love Me Harder” “I wish I was special” “YOLO” “Can I Pet Your Dog?”

In Ancient Greece, amphorae were originally used as transport and storage vessels, and only later did they become a clay canvas for some of the era’s top artists and illustrators. Anna takes on this tradition of decoration as though it continued to evolve from antiquity to today, with a kind of punk rebellious attitude… but fun, and cute.

You’ll think you’ve picked your favorite one and then you turn the page. And then you have multiple co-favorites and you realize you need this book. And one for your friend.
