isolarii #16: AH!MERICA

 20.00

A series by Common Era, the sixteenth edition of the diminutive isolarii (meaning ‘island texts’) arrives draped in three versions of William Blake’s visual interpretations of Dante’s Divine Comedy, adorned with the press’s signature font in metallic silver.

The title, derived from Blake’s visual poem ‘Ah!Sun-flower’, features in-depth excerpts from Allen Ginsberg’s Napora Institute lectures on the poet and visual artist. Having strongly influenced Ginsberg’s work, these lectures draw from Blake’s philosophy on noticing beauty in the minuscule and using poetry as a form of spiritual resistance against political and internalised oppressive structures. A detail to pay attention to—each chapter heading is set in Ginsberg’s handwriting.
