Ikaria

This self-published travel journal was born in 2022 (while traveling during lockdown) from Balassi’s need to continue exploring, be inspired, and observe despite the adversities of the time.

In her words: “For me, Ikaria means freedom, a new beginning, and rejuvenation. Having been away—due to global circumstances—for two years from my favorite island, I felt the need to visit it again and document it both photographically and experientially through the stories of the locals I recorded.”

Eva Balassi was born in Athens in 1990. In 2008, she moved to Corfu to study at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University. She soon realized that photography and videography were her passion. Since 2014, she has been working as a photographer and filmmaker for fashion brands and projects in Greece and abroad. Her book “Ikaria” is already in its third edition.
