Frieze #251

Over 34 years, Frieze has developed from outsider indie to the leading magazine for contemporary art and culture, and during that time has spawned art fairs in London, New York and Los Angeles. It provides international art coverage, criticism and analysis, and promises (if not always delivers) jargon-free language.

Their 251st issue for May 2025 shifts towards artwork that responds to the ‘present-day peril’. Inside features: A profile on cover artist Lotus L.Kang by Simon Wu; a conversation between Nairy Baghramain and Julie Mehretu about the importance of prioritising resilience over escapism through art and friendship, as well as, a showcase of New York galleries that are reshaping the experience of what an art space can be.
