Now You Are Immortal

QBRICK is an Athens based writer who started doing graffiti 25 years ago in 2001. He is best known for his radically reduced pieces that commonly are executed in black and lack of outlines, blocks, highlights, or any other established stylistic elements. NOW YOU ARE IMMORTAL is his first publication ever and solely focuses on almost 100 styles he painted in 2025 after returning from a break.

His pieces never look similar and with each new work he seemingly changes the letters’ shapes, size and flow and interacts with the rough surfaces he paints them on. The shown works are executed on insides and outsides of abandoned buildings or virgin walls without any traces of other writers, except for his collaborative walls with IKAROZ, BSOS, BEZ85, SAME84, BILOS, GOSPEL, DEXTER, HIT, TONES, WECHO and KIDD.

“I act as I don’t do graffiti pieces but the shadows of them. Graffiti is ephemeral. In blink of an eye it’s gone. I know they will not stay there for long. Sometimes I miss them while I’m in the process of making them. I want to depict the bone structure. No gimmicks, just pure letter forms. The only thing to remember.”

QBRICK’s stylistic pureness is even multiplied by only showing the painted works in black and white photographs in the 60-paged softcover. An introduction, statements and reflections on the chosen places, style or his intentions and a poem from 2012 accompany the entertaining content. NOW YOU ARE IMMORTAL is limited to 150 copies. It comes with a logo sticker and a signed and individualized 10 x 13,1 cm postcard-like photo print with him next to a giant piece and also including shadow silhouettes of his family.
