Athens Architecture – 200 Selected Buildings

This is a guidebook to the architecture of Athens in the fast 200 years. It is based on the album “Athens, two hundred years – two hundred buildings” edited by Manolis Anastasakis to celebrate 200 years from the Greek Revolution of 1821. The reconstruction of the city had begun since 1830 and the first urban plan was approved in 1833 and reviewed in 1834. From 1830-1834 onwards, Athens is basically a new city with a new identity and urban design.
