All our Mediterranean grannies invite you to the launch of Anastasia Miari’s highly anticipated new book: MEDITERRANEA: Life-perfected Recipes from Grandmothers of the Mediterranean.
On the evening of the event Anastasia Mmiari will be there (eight months pregnant!) to share stories, sign copies of the book (for sale from Hyper Hypo) and mingle and maybe have a little dance with guests.
In the OKUPA Kitchen & Listening Bar guests can enjoy wine, Mediterranean-inspired cocktails and an abundant edible tablescape of seasonal fruits, vegetables, cheeses and breads, created by Anastasia in collaboration with Kora Bakery, Jones Family Farm and Honest Toil Olive Oil. Guests can taste everything on site and take the delicious produce home with them! We want the table empty by the end of the night!
The vibe will also be enhanced by a curated DJ set from Katerina Karali spinning selections from all of the featured countries.
For this book, Anastasia has broadened her focus to include the culinary traditions not only of Greece but of Croatia, Cyprus, France, Italy, Lebanon, Morocco, Palestine, Slovenia, Spain, Tunisia and Turkey. Gathering recipes and stories from women who embody the essence of their local cuisines. Accompanying and illustrating all the mouth watering food, the photos of Marco Argüello vividly capture the atmosphere, colors and authenticity of the Mediterranean.
For every yiayia, nonna, abuela, aljada, buyukanne, grand-mère, or baka in our hearts, in our memories or in our futures, this evening is not to be missed.
