Kalymnos

This self-published travel journal was born in 2022 (while traveling during lockdown) from Balassi’s need to continue exploring, be inspired, and observe despite the adversities of the time.

In her words: “The book on Kalymnos smells of the sea, iodine from the sponges, oregano from the mountains, and stories from people who have made their livelihoods from sponge diving.”

Eva Balassi was born in Athens in 1990. In 2008, she moved to Corfu to study at the Department of Audio and Visual Arts at the Ionian University. She soon realized that photography and videography were her passion. Since 2014, she has been working as a photographer and filmmaker for fashion brands and projects in Greece and abroad. Her book “Ikaria” is already in its third edition.
