Always a joy to receive and carefully leaf through, The Plant is full of stories branching off in this way and that after beginning in the earth, roots, leaves and flowers.

This 25th issue for Spring/Summer 2026 takes inspiration from the cherry blossom’s arrival, embracing the sense of renewal and possibility that accompanies the changing season. As the team writes, ‘these pages capture the turning point: the moments when green creeps back into the city, when gardens call to be explored, when the restless buzz of new adventures tempts you to take unexplored paths.’

More pictorial than ever, flowers abound in this issue: Federico Torra documents flowers emerging against moody ‘just-after winter’ skies while Peter Jordanov captures the vibrant florals of Tuscany accompanied by a Botanical glossary. Elsewhere, readers are invited on a walk through the grounds of Fondation Beyeler with their Botanical Curator Rahel Kesselring.
