Magazine Launch: The Boy Is Beautiful #4

On Thursday, October 16th, 8:00pm Hyper Hypo invites you to the launch of The Boy Is Beautiful #4 by Leonidas Liolios.

For a single night, The Boy Is Beautiful takes over the underground passage of Hyper Hypo to celebrate the release of its fourth issue, titled Hold Me.

Echoing the spirit of an Athenian symposium, the launch of the new issue – 112 pages of queer sensuality printed in the magazine’s signature terracotta hues – will be accompanied by music, drinks, and readings from across the publication’s four “legendary” issues.

As a reminder of the fragile nature of queer history, visitors will also have the chance to adorn their bodies with temporary silkscreen tattoos by the Athenian studio Tind.

The event will provide simultaneous interpretation in Greek Sign Language.

About the publication…

Based in London, the first issue of The Boy Is Beautiful began as the thesis project of Leonidas Liolios during his studies at Central Saint Martins. With the aim of reframing Greek culture as a refuge of inspiration and sexual expression for queer people from all over the world, from antiquity to the present day, each issue becomes a cruising ground for photographers, artists, sex workers, academics, queer communities, writers, performers, architects, digital beings, and readers alike.
